I won’t pretend to know anything about getting elected to the U.S. Senate, but I’m wondering about tactics used by those opposing Steve Pearce, R-N.M., for Pete Domenici’s job.
First, there was Republican Heather Wilson suggesting Pearce opposes Cannon Air Force Base. And now Democrat Tom Udall seems to be claiming Pearce is in favor of price gouging at the gas pump.
I’m certain there are plenty of reasons to oppose Pearce’s election. But does anybody really believe he doesn’t support Cannon or that he is saying “no,” to working families looking for leadership in solving energy issues?
Seems to me those ridiculous allegations serve only to damage the credibility of Pearce’s opponents.
based on ads by pearce on wilson and vice versa neither would be good candidate. udall would be better off if he just let us know what he intends to accomplish
I guess it boils down to saving their own situation. Special interests of course. There will be the usual mud slinging, inuendos thrown around. Accussations made on this and that. Solutions, who knows. Realized promises, we’ll see them rarely. The days of honest politicians working for the people (now a contradiction in terms) have been over for a long time.
It is easy to verify that Pearce did vote to accept the Brack’s decision to close CAFB. He said it was for economic reasons. Wilson wasn’t even in our district, but fought hard to get Cannon off the list. We all know that Clovis won that fight.
